Who are we talking about this week?

Eskimo Callboy is a German metalcore band formed in Castrop-Rauxel in 2010. Despite their metalcore tag, the tracks are a more relaxed and pop approach to the genre, usually with satirical/comedic videos and lyrics. In December 2021, the group announced that they’ll take part in the 2022 Eurovision contest in Turin with the song ‘PUMP IT’ (Century Media Records).

Why do we like it?

If your New Year’s resolution is to become more active but you don’t feel like going to the gym and doing the few miles run yet – this song is perfect for you.

With a track like this and the constant repetition of the words: ‘My workout, my delight/I wanna pump it better’, you’ll most probably end up doing so many push-ups on the living room floor that you’ll get a six-pack anyway, a Guinness World Record for the biggest biceps in the world and even Arnold Schwarzenegger will ask you about your ‘secret’ for such an amazing body.

Heavily inspired by the 90s fitness vibe, the video is funny, weird, and colourful, which fits perfectly with the unique style and sound of the band. Despite being a mixture of metalcore and disco – this song is one of the most enjoyable tracks the band has ever created and we can’t wait to see what they have prepared for us in the future.
