Altin Gün are an Anatolian rock and Turkish psychedelic folk band from Amsterdam founded by bassist Jasper Verhulst, bassist with Dutch neo-psychedelicist Jacco Gardner, who became fascinated with the sounds after a tour with Gardner stopped over in Istanbul. The band – completed by Ben Rider (guitar), Nic Mauskovic (drums), Merve Dasdemir (vocals), Erdinc Yildiz Ecevit (saz, keys, vocals) and Gino Groenveld (percussion) – has had international success touring three continents were nominated for a Grammy in 2019 thanks to album ‘Gece’.

Altin Gün’s latest single, ‘Ordunun Delereli’ (The Rivers Of Ordu), is the first snippet from their upcoming album, ‘Yol’. Released November 18 on Glitterbeat Records, the track worms into the listeners ears with an unexpected mix of 80s synth sounds and 60s psychedelic rock. The track is a reimagining of a traditional Turkish folk song about two doomed lovers. If English is all you speak, get creative and make what you want of the lyrics.
