Staff at a liquor shop in Virginia were shocked when they arrived at work to discover the establishment had been broken into, not to mention that the perpetrator had consumed half their stock. They were only more surprised to find out that their liquor thief was a raccoon who had passed out in their bathroom after having a wild night.

Animal control was then called in, and the suspect was given a few hours to sleep off the hangover before being released back into the wild. Upon further inspection, it was found that the animal had fallen through a ceiling tile before being locked in the store. However, it is unknown just how much alcohol the raccoon was able to consume before passing out. Hopefully he wasn’t too hungover the next day!

It’s a win for inclusivity as the British Ice Skating board have announced a change; following Canada and Finland’s decision to update their ice dance national rules in 2022, they changed to allow same-sex pairings to compete. From the next season, same-sex couples will now be permitted to compete in British ice dancing events, including the national championships. Retired Olympic Ice skating dancers Madison Hubbell (USA) and Gabriella Papadakis (France) have been the true pioneers of this change. The pair have skated together in exhibitions in a bid to help pave the way for other same-sex pairs to have the opportunity to compete in an official capacity. Whilst there is still a long way to go in the world of ice skating inclusitivity, this is a positive movement towards equality.

Good news football fans! The World Cup is back in 2026, but this time there’s a twist. Three hosts have been pulled to host next year’s World Cup — with Mexico hosting first, before moving to Canada and finishing in America. With the tournament starting in 1930 many countries have had the opportunity to host, however this is the first time 3 different places will host during the same year. With England’s last winning of the world cup being back in 1966, we can only hope that they finally have the chance to ensure it’s coming home under the management of Thomas Tuchel.
