As 2025 comes to a close, let’s take a look at some of the game highlights from the past year. From the gorgeous art and music of ‘Hollow Knight: Silksong’, to the comedic chaos of ‘PEAK’, to the terror of ‘No, I’m Not a Human’, there’s a game for everyone to try out over the holidays.
#1 Hollow Knight: Silksong

From the developer’s of the beautiful ‘Hollow Knight’, Team Cherry is back with the sequel: ‘Hollow Knight: Silksong’. Explore the kingdom of Pharloom, upgrade weapons as well as your acrobatic skills to defeat enemies, and discover the secrets of Hornet’s past, along with the world around her.
Having been seven years in the making, ‘Hollow Knight: Silksong’ demonstrates the huge amount of time, love and passion that goes into a game’s development, and it clearly shows in every aspect of it! This challenging action-adventure Metroidvania 2D platformer has stunning visuals, a heart-wrenching story, and a gorgeous original orchestral score by Christopher Larkin. So whether you’re drawn in by the stunning visuals and sound, the mysterious story building of Hornet and Pharloom, or the challenging action sequences, you won’t want to miss this!

#2 Dispatch
Price on Steam: £24.99
From the creatives behind ‘Tales from the Borderlands’ and ‘The Wolf Among Us’, AdHoc Studio brings their latest game ‘Dispatch’ to the table. With the finale episodes recently being released, this workplace comedy about superheroes and villains is an all-round fun time.
Playing as Robert Robertson (Mecha Man), you find yourself stuck in a dispatch role after having your suit destroyed in battle. Specifically, your job is to rehabilitate a group of ex-supervillains, whilst trying to fix your suit to get revenge on your arch nemesis. This choices-matters, battle and relationships strategy game has jaw-droppingly good animated and voice acted cut scenes that make it feel like you really are inside a universe of quirky super-powered people!

#3 PEAK

Looking for a cute, funny, and challenging game that will test your friendships, teamwork and leadership skills through mountain climbing? Search no further than ‘PEAK’ by Landfall Games (creators of ‘Stick Fight: The Game’), Aggro Crab (creators of ‘Subway Midnight’) and Team PEAK!
Crashing on an abandoned island, you an your friends can play in co-op mode as you survive the strange biomes, weather and other natural dangers whilst working as a team (or just being a general menace-). 5 levels may not sound like a lot, but ‘PEAK’ makes each one worthwhile with a variety of skills needed to survive each of their quirks, and an array of randomised drops to make it a fun, new experience each time. On top of this, ‘PEAK’ also has a single player mode if you want to have a fun time and explore the wacky world on your own!

#4 No, I’m Not A Human

Taking a sharp turn genre-wise, Russian based developers Trioskaz bring the uncanny horror game ‘No, I’m Not a Human’. What if we lived in a world where the daylight posed the threat of burning anyone it touches to a crisp? But the night brought out the terror of encountering beings that may or may not be fully like us…
‘No, I’m Not a Human’ is a choice based, paranoia inducing survival game that makes you test interactions with other people in order to deem them safe or not. Some will bring solace in a lonely, apocalyptic world, others you will need to comfort, all whilst figuring out if you will need kill them before they kill you. With an unnerving, unique art style and immersive mechanics and story, ‘No, I’m Not a Human’ is sure to be a chilling yet exhilarating experience for character focused gameplay and psychological horror lovers.

#5 DELTARUNE
