2) Scientists Race to Save Hairy Snail; Snail Responds by Moving 3 Millimetres

The London conservationists have launched a new project to protect one of the UK’s rarest species in the world; the German Hairy Snail is a fingernail-sized mollusc with a hairy shell. Fossil evidence suggests that it has lived in Britain since the Ice Age, however the snail is now endangered due to the habitat loss along the Thames.

But don’t worry, ZSL and Citizen Zoo have started the first city wide survey in order to map where the snail is living. There are over 100 volunteers searching wetlands and riverbanks across the City of London that will help guide future conservation work to restore habitat and even potentially relocate vulnerable populations. Saving this tiny snail could also boost the wider riverbank diversity, which would benefit many other species that rely on the healthy wetlands.

3. Oh, Mary! Brings Chaos to London: Trafalgar Theatre Braces for Historically Inaccurate Mayhem

The irreverent, Tony-winning comedy Oh, Mary! written by Cole Escola is making its West End debut at Trafalgar Theatre in December 2025. Starring Mason Alexander Park in the title role, this fast-paced, chaotic comedy imagines former First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln as a cabaret-aspiring, booze-loving misfit desperate to reclaim her stage life while trapped in a dysfunctional marriage.

Following its smash success in New York, the 80-minute whirlwind is already generating buzz among London theatregoers for its mix of slapstick humour and gleeful disregard for historical accuracy. With performances running through until April 2026, the West End now has its own delightfully deranged slice of history. Find out more here:

4. Musicians Come Together to Send a Lullaby of Hope to Palestine

Together For Palestine is set to release “Lullaby” on December 12th. This charity single aims to raise funds for Palestine focused relief organisations, and intends to compete for the UK Christmas No.1 spot. Reimagining the traditional Palestinian lullaby “Yamma Mweel El Hawa” with English lyrics by the artist Peter Gabriel, the song also includes music arrangements by Palestinian musician Nai Barghouti.

Featuring a multitude of articles including Leigh-Anne, Mabel, Dan Smith, Brian Eno and several Palestinian musicians, all proceeds will go to the Together for Palestine fund, who support organisations providing humanitarian aid in Gaza and the West Bank.

Barghouti has described the song as a reminder of Palestinians “Hope, defiance, beauty and dignity”.
