World Television Day: Guess The Cursed, Reversed TV Theme Song

Thanks to the United Nations, today we celebrate television in all its forms, from traditional broadcast media to modern mobile journalism, with World Television Day.

Television was created to inform, educate and entertain. It can be life-changing; it’s one of the most important communication tools we have.

But while the UN might focus more on news coverage, documentaries and social commentary, at LDN we’re shining a cursed, reversed light on some of our favourite TV theme tunes, from comedy to heartstring-tugging drama to children’s programming.

Are you ready to ID our bonkers backwards and slightly disturbing choices?

1) This is where science and comedy collide…

2) You’d be a plonker to not recognise this!

3) Imagine a grand house, a sweeping staircase… and Mr Brown from Paddington.

4) The revival of this sci-fi classic got a mega theme tune makeover in 2009

5) If you can’t guess this you’re no LDNer. Get ahht of our pub!

6) Are you on the right track with this little number?

7) The twang’s the thang for this iconic mid-90s ear-worm.

8) We won’t lie, this rom-com theme tune was well tidy.

9) Moody, weird, compelling. And that was just the music for this 90s series.

10) At last, something serious. Seriously bangin’.

11) Okay, it’s not a TV theme, but it’s Britain’s Unofficial National Anthem. All aboard for Ambridge!

Think you got ’em all?
