Behind the shots: Cage The Elephant – 17/02/25

words & photography by Grace Minghella

I had the honour of shooting at Cage the Elephant’s February 17th show in London, it  was such an unforgettable performance, blending raw energy with amazing musical talent. The band took to the stage at the packed O2 academy Brixton on a boring monday, immediately feeding off the crowd’s excitement following the amazing opening acts who set the vibe perfectly. The setlist spanned their entire discography, they delivered fan favourites like “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked” and “Come a Little Closer” alongside tracks from their latest album, showcasing all their incredible talent!

the performance was as captivating as ever, their dynamic stage presence drove the crowd insane and the energy could be felt even outside the venue. The band’s seamless blend of alt-rock and indie influences was on full display, offering both intensity and emotional moments.

The crowd was fully engaged, singing along, and feeding off of the bands intensely  infectious energy. By the end of the night, it was clear that Cage the Elephant had once again proven their themselves as one of the most exciting upcoming live acts in rock today.

I was given the chance to shoot for the first five songs which is rare in the live music scene, and it felt like an absolute dream to interact so much with the band, having conversations between songs and breaking that professional barrier down. This gig is definitely one of my favourites that i have been to and shot for, the stage production and effects really enhanced their already incredible performance and made it so worth seeing.
