As part of Somerset House’s 2024 Summer Series, BIMM Brighton-formed band YONAKA rocked the outdoor stage, supporting the legendary Amazons. LDN resident photographer Izzy headed down to the photo pit to capture the excitement of their set.

Well, well, well… YONAKA has always been on my list to photograph! From Theresa Jarvis’s ethereal vocals to George Webrouck-Edwards’s mesmerising guitar licks, the band has rocked several venues in London including Camden’s iconic KOKO during their Welcome To My House tour, and the O2 Forum Kentish Town during their Seize The Power run. You might have also seen the foursome supporting artists such as Nothing but Thieves, The Hunna, Palaye Royale, and Evanescence.

I’ve caught Yonaka a handful of times and, as expected, this gig was just as good as the rest. Even though I could only watch while capturing the performance through my camera, YONAKA had the crowd blaring and ready to go, in preparation for The Amazons‘ headline set. Forming at BIMM Brighton, here at BIMM London, we couldn’t be any prouder of their progress in the music industry.
