With a new direction and anticipation building for their next album, Swedish Metal band Viperia are going on an Eastern European tour this winter. And if their previous work and accomplishments are anything to go by, this is one gig metal fans across the continent will not want to miss. Their raw and energetic style are sure to have you headbanging all night.
Led by frontman Alex Maestro Hilonen the band released their debut album The Dying Embers, which received critical acclaim in two of Sweden’s largest metal magazines: Sweden Rock Magazine and Close-Up Magazine. The project also scored an impressive 10/15 in the German publication Legacy. Online webzine Tartarean Desire gave a glowing testimonial stating, “basically, it’s everything I love about ‘90s Anathema, Soundgarden and Taneli Jarva-era”.

Furthermore, the band have gone on to produce an impressive showing in Emergenza, one of the largest battles of the band competitions in the world appearing in the finals two years in a row. Viperia has found their music appearing in many locations – from American and Australian radio stations, to featuring on a compilation album with the likes of Fear Factory. Their most recent release, an ep titled Old School but New School features a cover of ‘The House of the Rising Sun’.
Currently, they are getting ready to release their second album and have decided to embark on a 10-stop tour in which they will be making appearances in the following countries: Bulgaria, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia.
