Fresh from his support tour in the States with Half Alive, new and upcoming indie-pop artist Thomas Headon celebrates the end of his first headline tour, with many stops around Europe including, Berlin, Paris and Milan. LDN parties with Thomas in Prague singing along to hits like ‘Georgia’ and ‘Wet Tongue’. Influenced by bedroom pop and taking inspiration from the trend-setting band The 1975, it was only time before Thomas took centre stage.
Rising to fame in 2020, it was a long wait for European fans to see their favourite artist live, and what better way to celebrate than with an exclusive performance of his new EP Six Songs Thomas Headon Likes and Thinks You Would Like Too. As soon as doors open, fans are greeted with a carefully curated pre-show playlist with hits from Only The Poets, another indie band in which Thomas had supported previously. Thomas gained popularity in Europe thanks to his role on their tour. In true Thomas Headon style the energy in the room is electric from start to finish, fans couldn’t have been more excited for the show to begin.

Supporting Headon on tour, TikTok star turned indie artist, Arthur Hill, he wowed the audience with unreleased hits like ‘John Wayne’ and ‘Tell Me A Joke’ with other bangers like ‘Tiny Room’ and new release ‘Bride and Gloom’. Known for his comedic stage presence, he didn’t hold back for his first international shows, in fact he ran onto the stage in an I Love Prague t shirt, giving Headon’s Czech fans even more of a reason to party along with the singer-songwriter. With all the energy he brought to the stage, fans eagerly reciprocated it, dancing along to his performance – with Hill imitating the crowd throughout his set, enjoying the party so much he was laughing mid song a few times. It comes as no surprise that with infectious charisma and charm like this, he’s just announced his own sold-out UK tour for February 2024 with stops in London, Manchester and Bristol, already selling it out within the first day of the sale.
Freeing from the mould of a structured concert setting, Thomas partied with Prague by breaking away from his own music, giving the crowd a Taylor Swift cover. He joked later with the fans “I like to imagine people listening to my own music, but tonight there is no excuse to not listen to Taylor Swift on repeat” as a comment to her new re-recording being released that night. After he got right back onto his own tunes, the fan projects soon started, with paper stars scattering the crowd for his song ‘Georgia’, every song of the show was made special not only by Headon but by the fans too. Singing and dancing along to every word, fans of Thomas embodied the word party all night long.

“We don’t feel like this because we are a fan, he feels the same way we do because we are a family.” Fans of Thomas are not only drawn to his music but also the friendships they’ve made through the artist. He’s got an authenticity fans can really connect with, he comes out and meets fans after the shows and is always thanking them for all their continued support on social media. His supporters, or as Thomas has jokingly named his fan base ‘Pookie Bears’, understand and respect each other so deeply because of the connection Thomas has created between fan and artist. This togetherness that’s been created by Thomas and fans gives his shows such a safe environment, built on the want fans to just let loose and have fun with each other at his gigs. All this proven by Thomas, with his song ‘butterflies’; fans eagerly wait for him to come into the crowd and sing along with them, holding each other during the heartfelt song. An even more special moment for these international fans, who for most it’s their first-time seeing Thomas live.
Almost too quickly the show was nearing its end, with the final few songs of the night speeding by. After a Hannah Montana ‘Best of Both Worlds’ cover where fans really danced along, with rockstar hands held up in the air throughout. Thomas is back into his own releases for the final three songs. Keeping his most energetic songs till last, the crowd carried the party on right until the very last notes of his hit song ‘Urbanangel1999’. Headon’s outro played through as he exited the stage, fans feeling the post-concert energy still thrumming through them. It’s a long while before they are ready to leave the venue, with security having to usher many out as they lost their voices even more shouting along the lyrics to Thomas’ music together as they exit.
